Here are some very important things to remember when it comes to wedding etiquette.

Wedding Website

These days many brides and grooms are opting to have a wedding website. It is a great idea for guests who wish to respond to invitations online, or for those who live out-of-town, it is possible to have an online printable map showing the location of the church and reception, plus being able to have access to the wedding photos after the lovely day.

Gift List

It is important that you remember that when choosing a gift list, in order for your guests to purchase that little something special for your new married life, that you select items with various price ranges. It is optional that the guest purchase a gift. Remember that a wedding invitation is exactly that, an invite to share with you the joyful day ahead, it is a contribution, not obligatory. It is also vitally important and polite to send a thank you card within a two month period of receipt of your wedding gift.

Flowers

When choosing the flowers for the big day, it is important to know what the different flower colors signify. Listed below are just a few of the most important colors that you should remember.

Red: Romance

Love

Respect

Congratulations

Courage

Pink: Happiness

Gentleness

Sweetness

Yellow: Joy

Friendship

Jealousy

Welcome back

White: Innocence

Purity

Secrecy

Youthfulness

Reception Toasts

When giving the toasts on your big day, it is vitally important to remember not to go over the top. Give thanks to everyone for attending, but especially toast the bride, groom, best man, bridesmaids and pageboys, not forgetting the in-laws!!

Wedding Favors

It is customary to give an inexpensive keepsake of your wedding. It can be anything that you desire, but the wedding colors or theme should be used. For example, you could give a clear glass ornament with dried flowers inside, tied with ribbon. The ribbon could even have printed on it the bride and grooms names.

Champagne glasses with sugared almonds or mints inside, maybe with some ribbon around the stem of the glass.

Bookmarks with the date of the wedding and the bride and grooms names printed on them.

It is important to remember that contrary to popular belief, weddings to dot need to include limousines, tuxedos and ballroom costumes. The most important thing to remember about a wedding is that it is an exchange of vows of a loving partnership between two people. Every wedding varies from formal to informal, but whichever it is, it is a joyous, enjoyable ceremony of two people that wish to spend the rest of their lives together.
