He’s bought the ring and got down on one knee. Now your mind is swamped with thousands of things that need to be done.

You sit there with the wedding organizer in front of you your hair is a mess and you feel the stress piling on, you look across the table and he’s as cool as a cucumber reading the paper. It’s not that he’s not as excited about marrying you as you are, it’s probably that he isn’t the type to jump into the project the way you do. So you have to take the first step and get him involved in a way he will be interested.

1) Put your “To Do List” and by what date on paper. By having a list out for the both of you to view out in the open involves him in the planning. The best place to post this would be the fridge. This way as the list is completed each of you can see what is left to do.

2) A man loves to be included so don’t be shy to ask him for the help. Let him know that you want his ideas and thoughts and that you can’t do this wedding without him. Bear in mind not to lose his interest by constantly denying his ideas this is his wedding too.

3) Ask him to do some research. Getting him to discuss the topic over with his parents, loved ones that were already married or on the internet not only gives him an active role in planning but also gives the two of you different perspectives and ideas.

4) Delegate areas that you know will interest him. Get him to choose and get all tuxes fitted, choosing flavor of cake, DJ and Photographer. Also getting him to choose and arrange method of transportation for your special day. Make sure not to pile it on him all at once this way he doesn’t feel overwhelmed with work. Keep it simple and fun.

5) Lastly make the next six months to a year more than just about the wedding. Whether it’s to your fiancé or your friends and family; always making it the topic of conversation makes it overwhelming and stressful. Take time off from the planning and over all topic every once and a while. Get him to choose a night out it will definitely do both of you some good.

Once everything is over the two of you will have become professional party planners and your 10th wedding anniversary party will be a stress free, well organized five star celebration.
